The overall design differs only iteratively from predecessors, featuring a fully flat screen instead of the previous curved design. It also introduces new titanium sides, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which offer a gripper finish for better handling and, in theory, enhanced strength and durability. The screen is equipped with Corning’s latest Gorilla Armor glass, which is more scratch-resistant and less reflective. This reduces glare significantly, making the device easier to use outdoors, even in bright sunlight, thanks to its super-bright display.
The S24 Ultra is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip from Qualcomm, which delivers a 20% performance boost, 26% faster graphics, and improved power efficiency compared to previous models. The new addition is a 50MP 5x telephoto camera, replacing the previous 10MP 10x telephoto from the S23 Ultra.
This new telephoto sensor also supports in-sensor zoom for 10x magnification, which performs similarly to its predecessor’s 10x zoom in side-by-side comparisons.
